Balos
A bus from Chania to Kissamos and the boat out from there, with a guy from the US I'd met in Athens. The lagoon is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen, and half of Crete had come to see it with me, so go in October. We stopped at a Venetian fortress on a small island after, and then the boat played Greek music all the way home, loud enough that sleeping after a day in the sun was not an option.
