Straight after the Dolomites, still with the three friends for the first days and alone for the last two. We stayed across the water in Mestre and took the bus in every morning, and most of what came back is the city between the sights, markets, washing lines and back canals. One gondola made it in. The hundreds of stores selling Murano glass sculptures were my absolute highlight.
